Most people are scared or nervous when they first call to initiate an adoption locate search.  

Don't worry, that is normal.  This is a big decision. After speaking with us about your options and what to expect, you may need to think about it and come back when you are ready to move forward.

As Confidential Intermediaries, CI's, we have access to the closed juvenile adoption records and the original birth certificate information. From these files we obtain the names and identifying information to conduct our locate.  This file information is 18 + years old the the whole process can be anywhere from a few days to months to complete.  

We have been doing this regularly for a long time so we will guide you and make the process simple and painless. 

  1. Make the call to us. ​We will explain the process, pricing, timelines and answer your questions, and get the information you have or have heard from family members.
  2. We send you the following forms and our contract:
    1. our contract spells out everything we discussed and fees due.
    2. sign and notarize the an affidavit for consent to open a court file.
    3. fill out the personal information questionnaire:  Adoptee Questionnaire   Birth parent Questionnaire
  3. Return the three documents to us by mail (6501 E Greenway Pkwy, 103-500, Scottsdale, AZ 85254)  e-mail to   (info@discoverydetectivegroup.com) , or fax ( 480-922-4656).


​​That is it.  Relax until we find them. We stay in contact with you as we go with non-identifying information until we have an affidavit signed by the other party.
