Q & A of becoming a Client

Q: I am a new Client, how do I start working with Discovery Detective Group?
A: After an initial consultation your case director will quote you a minimum price. If you agree to move forward we will send you a retainer that will spell out the terms of what we have agreed to include the price and work to be done. Once you have signed and returned it with the retainer amount requested in cash, credit, debit, Paypal, or money order we will begin the investigation as agreed.
Q: I have a problem, can a private investigator help me?
A: We give free fifteen minute consultations, so just call and ask us, we are here to help. If it is after hours or you prefer to send your question through e-mail, go to our "contact" page an fill out a case consult or question request. We do our best to respond by 5:00 pm the next same day. After hours responses may be the next business day.
Q: I am a current Attorney or corporate Client, what do you need to start a new case?
A: Information needed to get started for a quote or to order a case: please provide a brief description of your case goal and it's due date. Rush fees may apply. Provide names, current address or last known address, date of birth or approximate age, date of loss or dates of importance to the investigation. The more information you give us, the more cost effective it is for you .
Q: I have a complex investigation?
A: For complex matters give us a brief summary of the issues and we will schedule a one hour case consultation where you can bring in documentation, and explain the goals in the case to be investigated. We will define a plan of action and a quote. If you move forward the consultation will be included in the case retainer.

CUSTOMARY PAYMENT
Retainers: It is customary to receive payment in advance. Usually this is a minimum retainer which is an educated estimate of what your case will cost. If the case is more complex or difficult than an average case, further work may be needed to complete it successfully. Your case director will consult with you and get your authorization for additional work. This balance may be due at the end of the investigation if it is minimal, or additional retainer will be requested. Retainers are based on flat fee or flat fee minimums that take into account hourly customary hourly rates.
Hourly rates: Hourly rates may very as to the type of investigation and expertise required for that aspect of the work performed.
Contingency: Discovery Detective Group does not work investigations on a contingency basis because if it were discovered that our expertise was paid for on a contingency basis, our courtroom testimony & report could be compromised as many perceive this as being a "Hired Gun". Additionally, we choose to thoroughly work all of our cases. Many that accept bulk work on a contingency basis skim the cream from the top working only the easiest cases, returning the rest not worked beyond a quick analysis.
Corporate and Regular Clients: Corporate and Regular Clients may qualify for 30-day invoiced billings and corporate volume discounts. Call Discovery Detective Group for more details.
